From Rhys Jaggar:
Utilisation of Spurs’ ‘useless squad’ at half way:
30 games played of a maximum possible 63, minimum 52.
Over 20 starts (40-50 in season): Lloris, Alderweireld, Moura, Kane
15-20 starts (30-40 in season): Trippier, Davies, Sanchez, Dier, Winks, Sissoko, Son, Eriksen, Dele
10-14 starts (20-30 in season): Rose, Vertonghen
5-9 starts (10-20 in season): Gazzaniga, Aurier, Foyth, Dembele, Lamela
1-4 starts (<10 in season): Vorm, Walker-Peters, Skipp, Wanyama, Llorente
So 25 squad members have started games and 20 look like they may reach double figures of starts by season’s end. Few are being flogged like carthorses.
It may not be a Manchester City squad, but if 20 squad members are contributing regularly during a successful season, it is hard to say Spurs have no depth to their squad.
Always worth checking facts before believing media pronouncements.
Well said, sir.
As an opinionated blogger who shoots from the hip too often I have to say: keep giving us the facts!
