A rocking night of football last night.
Sadio Mane and Virgil Van Dijk were superb as Liverpool smashed Watford 5-0.
Man United bounced back with a 3-1 win at Crystal Palace but I’ve gotta shoot out shortly and don’t time to write it all up.
Arsenal stuffed Bournemouth 5-1 AND Spurs lost 2-0 at Chelsea.
Sarri dropped Kepa & Pedro was on fire last night.
When the speedy winger saw Sarri was about to take him off and bring Willian on, Pedro burst into flames and the fire brigade had to be called.
In 21 away games before last night, Pochettino’s Spurs had scored in 20. Chelsea 2 Spurs 0 is a result that will have been noted by Klopp, by Pep and Emery and other top managers.
As you all realise, I’m bored by the Mesut Ozil farce and have refused to talk about the moody Mesut, let alone write about him.
But I had an idea last night, twigged something, saw something that suggests that the old beatnik and Emery are thinking along the same lines.
A surprising moment in the 2018-19 football season: Myles now wants to write an article about the enigmatic Mesut Ozil.
Life is still full of surprises…..and so is football.
Younger readers will not know what I’m talking about, so I’ll have to do some research so that they’ll understand.
With any luck, I’ll be able to do that tonight and post the Ozil piece on Friday morning.
