Stan Kroenke met the Arsenal board at the Emirates Stadium today.
Intriguing encounter for the Yank, no doubt.
Will they invite Stan to the AGM ?
Doubt it. He wouldn't want to go.
Will they offer Stan a place on the board?
No. That would upset Usmanov, who might go hostile and offer £14,000 a share.
Do they want to buy Stan's shares?
No because they could have bought his shares when ITV had them on the market for 18 months.
And they could have bought Lansdowne's 3% at £10,500 a share but they chose not to do that.
Does Stan want to sell or buy? Does he want to sell his 12% of the company ?
Or were they talking about Stan buying Arsenal FC in 2008 or 2009 ?
Did Stan meet Arsene? Will he be shown Colney today and meet him then? Have they opened up the books to the Yank?
As I keep saying, the EPL is a circus. Or maybe it's time for Arsenal : the Movie. Who could write the screenplay for that blockbuster?
On Tuesday, Alisher Usmanov flew the British press to Moscow in a private jet and put them up at the five-star Kempinski Hotel.
An amazing stunt which many have dubbed a "charm offensive."
The party of about 10 reporters included The Guardian (Matt Scott), The Daily Mail ( Charlie Sale),The Times (Matt Dickinson), The Sun (Shaun Custis), The Mirror (Martin Lipton), The Daily Telegraph (David Bond), the BBC (Richard Galpin) and The Independent (Jason Burt).
The press conference at his Moscow HQ was widely reported on Wednesday morning but only Charlie Sale admitted they were all flown there in Usmanov's Gulfstream 550.This long-range business jet carries 10-12 passengers.
I wrote about the Uzbek billionaire on September 19 in Face it : Usmanov wants control of Arsenal.
