Arsenal defender Rob holding is confident that Gunners haven’t reached their crisis point yet and still have it in them to turn things around as the team heads into the festival break.
They have won only 4 of the 13 Premier League games they’ve played so far and were outperformed by Leicester City with a score line of 2-0, prior to heading into the international break and struggled to draw with Southampton at home.
The team is not only followed throughout the year by its hard-core fans but is also heavily backed in the betting markets. In fact, football attracts the maximum amount of betting activity amongst all sports that are heavily bet on in different parts of the world. The defeat at the hands of Leicester City came after the team drew two of its home games against Crystal Palace and Wolves, as well as a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Sheffield United. Nevertheless, Holding believes that it’s not time to press the panic button just yet.
Holding confident of turning things around
Talking to Sky Sports News, Rob Holding said, “We just need to string a couple of wins together and I think that will lift the confidence again and hopefully set us off on a run. We just need to stay calm and stay positive. We’re sixth, we’re not a million miles off it. We’re going into a busy Christmas period now where there’s going to be three Premier League games a week.”
“We’re eight points off the top four but if we have three wins in a week we’re back up within touching distance so it’s not crisis point by any stretch of the imagination. We need to keep calm, keep positive and keep working on what we need to improve on,” he said.
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang leading by example
Talking about the captaincy issues, Holding believes that Pierre is excellent in the dressing room and is a very happy character, sending positive vibes to everyone around him. He has the skill of lifting people up and always leads by example when on the football pitch. With someone like Aubameyang leading from the front, and scoring goals on a regular basis, things can become very easy for the club.
Holding further stressed that he’s never had any issues with Granit as well, nor any of the other players have had any issues with him in the past. He is also an excellent person to have in the changing room and whatever happened to him is something between fans and him.
Pochettino sacking shocked Holding
Holding said that he felt shocked at the news of Pochettino sacking but it didn’t affect him much as he was not in any way involved in that. And nor does it affect Arsenal in any way. The club only needs to concentrate on themselves and the things which are in their control.
