Spurs v Dortmund/Liverpool v Bayern Munich/ Man City v Schalke

The Champions League Round of 16 draw:

Liverpool v Bayern Munich
Schalke v Manchester City

Manchester United v Paris St-Germain
Tottenham v Borussia Dortmund

Atlético Madrid v Juventus
Lyon v Barcelona
Roma v Porto
Ajax v Real Madrid

It’s a great draw.

Northern Europe against Southern Europe in the Quarter Finals.

Lyon are a better team than people realise.

Dortmund with Jadon Sancho will be in Gareth Southgate’s diary, I’m sure.

The kid knows a lot of the Spurs players but he’s only played with them, not against them.

The first-legs fixtures will be split over two midweek dates, on 12-13 February and 19-20 February,

he second legs played over 5-6 March and 12-13 March.

MEMO TO STAN KROENKE:

THis is where Arsenal should be, Stan. You need to invest. You need to back Arsenal’s savvy new recruitment team and get back into the big time.

The Europa League is nowhere. It’s only good for developing youngsters and rotating your squad. The only big clubs in the Europa League are those that have been going through a bad patch.

Arsenal v Bate Borisov just doesn’t do it for me.

I PREFER THE EXCITEMENT OF BIG GAMES.
