Unbeaten Arsenal run continues in Kiev/And it’s Spurs on Sunday

By Dan Ferguson

Vorskla Poltova 0 Arsenal 3

Minus ten in the stadium and the Arsenal players look like they’re wearing jumpers.

I’m only going to highlight important incidents.

Nketiah and Ramsey combined well and Nketiah ran hard into the area on 11 and Welbecked his chance but Smith-Rowe buries the chance.

0-1

Vorskla are pretty shoddy but Arsenal are so inexperienced and match-shy that anything could happen here.

A Ramsey free-kick on 18 was so bad it should be noted by  everyone who continues to try to underline his ‘star’ quality. He isn’t that player.

On 26 a silly challenge on Ramsey results in a penalty. It was a pen as well. Ramsey puts it away with the slightly scuffed shot.

0-2

On 40 Joe Willock breaks from his own half, runs like Henry with the ball and finishes like him too. Not a great opposition but a lovely goal.

0-3

On 52, Nketiah weaves the Vorskla defence inside out and laid it on a plate for Ramsey. Offside though. Nice move though. He looks a handful in the mould of Lacazette. I like him.

Arsenal is dominating totally. Very low-paced game now. Like an exercise. Medley comes on for Holding who was on a yellow for flapping his arms going up for a header. Medley is quite enormous. Seriously the proverbial ‘unit’. Goodness. How old is he?

Smith Rowe scores on 64 and it is crazily disallowed. Ho hum.

On 68 Saka comes on for Ramsey. He cannot be older than my wedding shoes. And I’ve had them for 15 years.

Charlie Gilmour comes on in 76 for his debut. He is another youngster and meant to be decent. Saying that, Guendouzi is only 19. He can play a bit as you all know.

Nketiah is really pretty good. He deserves a goal.

A convincing win against a very poor side. Well done the kids though. The game finishes 3-0. No real revelations or key issues to highlight.

A job well done with no lasting effects to banjax the Spurs game. Bring it on.
