At Barcelona the team picks the team.
Especially in the big games.
Coach Tata Martino isn\’t in charge and he\’s leaving anyway.
Xavi and Iniesta run the team.
And the team is waiting for one of their own, Celta Vigo coach Luis Enrique, to take over.
Messi was injured and sulking because president Sandro Rosell stupidly put Neymar on bigger wages than him.
Now that Rosell has had to resign, and Messi has an improved contract, the superstar is looking a lot happier.
He\’s in charge of Argentina and the absence of Carlos Tevez from their 30-man squad proves that once again.
Just as Barcelona all play for Messi, Argentina will all play for Messi in Brazil.
Barcelona need to beat Atletico on Saturday to win the league at the Nou Camp.
Atletico only need to draw to be champions.
Remember that Diego Simeone\’s warriors went to Chelsea and won 3-1.
I reckon they\’ll go to Barcelona and win 1-0.
They know how to contain Messi, who hasn\’t scored in his last six games against them.
I\’m backing Atletico to because of the brilliant Courtois in goal, because of Atletico\’s collective desire, their amazing work-ethic, appetite and organisation, their captain Gabi, who is the most under-rated midfielder in European football.
Atletico Madrid have a brand of functional power that allows them to dominate most areas of the pitch in most phases of any game.
If you want to win ugly, Diego Costa is your man.
He has iffy hamstrings, so he\’s not running as fast as he did in the autumn, or scoring as many goals.
I hope this abrasive, cunning striker has two more games left in those legs because David Villa is so far over the hill he\’s invisible.
As I say, Atletico only have to draw.
But I actually think they can win on Saturday.
