Why I fancy Pep’s league leaders in Sunday’s Manchester derby

I wish it was today.

The focal point of the weekend is exactly two days away and I’m not sure I can wait that long

Just can’t wait for this derby.

Maybe you’ve studied the stats from previous derbies but I haven’t really done that because every football match is different and every derby is different.

It has to be different because the circumstances surrounding each match are never the same, even if it’s the same 22 players.

Jose Mourinho will play a belt-and-braces formation of  3-4-1-2 with Jesse Lingard as the one.

That allows Valencia to attack left back Fabian Delph, City’s weakest link.

City’s midfield four are all tacklers and Valencia, Herrera,Matic and Young have a helluva lot of experience.

Neutrals will insist that it’s better for Manchester United to win because it might stop City running away with the Premier League title.

But I fancy Pep Guardiola in this one, even though he’s only won one of his last six big games against Mourinho.

That was a 2-1 win at Old Trafford in September 2016 and I reckon that KDB and Raheem can repeat that scoreline.

Bring it on!
