Do you expect Arsenal to win in Baku? ?
Too soon to say, I always feel my way into big matches from 48 hours before kick-off.
Is any cup final a 50-50 game?
I don’t believe that and never will. Man City v Watford is not a 50-50 FA Cup Final on Saturday.
And neither was Arsenal v Newcastle in 1998, that was never a 50-50.
Because Arsenal were a devastatingly strong team, while Newcastle were a decent side who finished about 15th in the league that season. Even without the injured Dennis Bergkamp, I knew that Arsenal would win and they did so with goals by Marc Overmars and Nicolas Anelka.
I was in the Wembley press box that day and saw an Alan Shearer shot hit the post at 1-0. But even if that shot had gone in, I believed that Arsenal would prevail. That team had more than enough skill and power, even without Dennis.
Did you watch the Sky highlights of Burnley 1 Arsenal 3?
Yes and I wasn’t surprised that Emery used so many of his squad players against such a physical side, resting Lacazette. He started Aubameyang, who scored two spectacular goals and might have had more. The match was so drab it was hard for the editor to find 25 minutes of “highlights”.
